NYS ELA Testing Information

2021 NYS ELA EXAM Schedule

Good Morning LAMS Family Members,

Thank you for responding to our NYS test opt in survey.  Below and attached is our testing schedule for next week.  Please note, if you are a remote student, transportation will not be provided for testing days.   Remote students must be dropped off, use public transportation, or walk to school to arrive by 8:00AM and be picked up, use public transportation or walk home at 1:57PM.
Students will not be able to have any technology, SMART devices into the testing area.  All technology will be collected during the testing time.

Safety protocols to ensure your child’s safety will be upheld.  Students will be required to fill out a health screening survey prior to entering the building at:
https://healthscreening.schools.nyc/.  All students must wear a face covering and practice social distancing when entering the building.  All students will enter at the flag pole entrance.

Remote students in grades 6-8 will be assigned alphabetically by last name for their room assignments.  An additional email will be sent.  This information will also be posted in the google classrooms.

Here at LAMS, we use testing information to help bridge learning gaps, strengthen teaching and learning and plan accordingly to your child’s unique entry level into the standard.  I’m sure our students will do their best and our teachers will be able to craft their lessons more strategically having the information from the results.  The test will not impact grades, promotion or teacher evaluation.  It is a low stakes test.
