Develop your strategy now.  Are you going to:
i) read the paragraph first, then look and answer the questions
ii) read the paragraph (annotate, highlight, etc.), then look and answer the questions
iii) look at the questions, read the paragraph, then answer the questions
iv) look at the questions, attempt to answer, then read the paragraph

As you work through this, you can ask questions using the question number as reference.  The questions are NOT scrambled.  Notepad on the side to jot down things you have forgotten or need to review.  Use the 25 page review notes to study from.  Print them out, highlight, use the margin for additional notes...whatever you need.  If you don't have a printer and would like a paper copy rather than a digital one, let me know, I will figure out something for you.


There are 43 questions, which means you would have an hour and a half to do this on the Regents.  As you work through this, I will be creating a document with every question and inputting your questions or thoughts on each individual question.  I will post when we are complete.  If you got something wrong, you can reference this document for explanation.

I am posting this early so that you can work on it before class.  You will have the entire fourth period to complete this.  We will go over all 30 questions fifth period!!

You must answer this.  The mutation or superpower MUST be in existent in the world already in the human species or another species.  The mutation or super power CAN be an exaggeration of something that is in existent in the human species or another species.


For example:
Teleportation is NOT a possibility because there are no species in the world that can teleport.
Super speed IS a possibility because it is an exaggeration of fast animals (like cheetahs).

Darwin proposed that in order for evolution to occur, there must be 4 steps...overproduction, variation, selection event, and eventual adaptation.  Overproduction means that more species is born than the environment can possibly sustain.  Variation means that there are differences within a species.  A selection event means that an even must occur in which one of the variations is more advantageous than another.  Eventually, over many many many years, the "better" trait will be the one that is passed on in the entire species.


Are we overproducing?
Do we have variation?
Is there a selecting event?
Has it been long enough that there is an adaptive change?
