Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Tanya Martin
Welcome to sixth grade Math and Science. I am exited to be working with you this year. I began my teaching career at Louis Armstrong Middle School in 2006 as a NYC teaching fellow. Prior to becoming a teacher, I graduated from Binghamton University and worked in the private sector as an environmental consultant for three years before realizing that my true passion was working with children in an educational setting. I applied and was accepted to the NYC Teaching Fellows program which allowed me to earn my Masters of Science in Education from Queens College. I have taught Math, Language arts, Social Studies, and health to both the general education and special education population in my tenure here at LAMS.
I look forward to a fun and successful school year. In order to achieve that, communication is very important. I will be updating this page as well as using email to keep in touch with students and parents. If there is ever a more personal concern, I will make phone call home to individual parents. If you need to get in contact with me, you may call the school and leave a message, or send and email to firstname.lastname@example.org
